Officer hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash with big rig near Bryant

NEAR BRYANT, AK – An Arkansas State Capitol police officer was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig last Wednesday, May 28.

According to KATV, the events unfolded around 6:30 a.m. when the big rig driver tried to merge on an I-30 ramp and collided with the officer.

First responders hurried to the scene and transported the police officer to a local hospital for treatment. Public officials have publicly identified him as Sergeant Dion Tyson.

Tyson’s current physical condition is unknown. Authorities said that one of the drivers involved in the multi-vehicle crash had allegedly fled the scene. Officials are working to determine what the suspect and their vehicle looked like. Anyone with more information on the collision is asked to contact authorities immediately.
