Norfolk Southern train collides with semi-truck in Cobb Co.

COBB CO., GA – Emergency crews were called to the scene after a train careened into a semi-truck in Austell on Tuesday.

According to CDL Life, the crash occurred at the railroad crossing near the intersection of VMH and Austell Powder Springs Road.

Footage from the scene shows the truck’s gradual movement across the railroad tracks, with several passenger vehicles waiting on the opposite side of the crossing. As the truck makes its way across the tracks, the crossing arm descends, and warning lights begin to flash. While the drivers of the passenger vehicles quickly reverse away from the crossing upon noticing the oncoming train, leaving ample space for the truck to proceed, the truck driver fails to clear the trailer from the tracks.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Further details about the incident are yet to be disclosed.
