Man loses life, 2 injured in car-semi crash in Whites Creek

WHITES CREEK, TN – A 42-year-old man was killed, and his two people were injured in a rear-end collision involving a Nissan Altima and a Volvo big rig Wednesday.

Metro Nashville Police told FOX 17 that prior to the crash, the truck driver had merged into the right lane on I-24 West to avoid hitting a disabled vehicle on the shoulder. Moments later, a 30-year-old man driving the Nissan had sped into the right lane and then rear-ended the truck.

The force of the collision caused the car to drift off the road and go into a tree line.

Medical helicopter personnel transported the 30-year-old male car driver and his backseat passenger, a 19-year-old adult, to Skyline Medical Center. They are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities declared the 42-year-old man dead at the scene. They identified him as Pritam “Peter” Singh.

Police confirmed that intoxication did not play a role in the wreck.
