STRATFORD, TX – A 63-year-old Missouri man died, and a 36-year-old Alabama man was seriously hurt following a head-on crash involving two big rigs last Monday.
News Channel 10 said around 6:30 p.m., the Missouri man had lost control of his truck and drifted off his northeast lane on U.S. 54. He then went into the southwest lanes. Seconds later, he struck another semi-truck head-on driven by the Alabama man.
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the Missouri man suffered fatal injuries at the scene. He has since been identified as Mark Baucom.
The surviving occupant, Andrew Conley, is recovering at a hospital.
Troopers have launched an investigation.
