1 killed, another hurt in Sunflower Co. rear-end collision with semi 

SUNFLOWER COUNTY, MS – A motorcyclist lost his life, and another motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital after a rear-end crash with a semi-truck Saturday.

WJTV said that the motorcyclist had struck the back of a 2000 Mack RD6 truck with his 2002 Kawasaki 9R motorcycle at around 2:15 p.m. A short time later, the second motorcyclist crashed into a ditch.

The first motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He has since been identified as 42-year-old Kionchez Gibson from Memphis.

First responders identified the surviving motorcyclist as 28-year-old Caitlin Dotson. She was airlifted to Jackson Hospital.

It is unclear if the truck driver was injured.

Mississippi Highway Patrol started an investigation.
