Drivers hurt as United States Postal truck overturns in Micanopy

MICANOPY, FL – A United States Postal Service tractor-trailer overturned after colliding with a pickup truck on I-75 South, leaving both drivers with minor injuries Wednesday.

Florida Highway Patrol told WCJB that the pickup truck was parked and blocking part of a lane. The semi-driver drifted out of their lane to avoid hitting the pickup with no activated hazard lights. Despite the driver’s attempt, a crash was unavoidable, and the big rig flipped over, spilling out countless piles of mail.

Several USPS trucks pulled up to the scene to retrieve the scattered mail.

The impacted truck drivers received medical aid on site. There were no reports of hospitalizations.
