2 hospitalized after fiery box truck rollover wreck in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, GA – Two people had to go to a hospital after their box truck crashed, flipped over, and caught on fire on John Wood Road Friday.

The collision happened before 3:15 p.m. along GA 15, according to Now Habersham. The two truck occupants managed to escape the truck prior to first responders arriving. EMS crews transported one person to a hospital. The other was taken to a hospital by means of a personal, non-ambulance vehicle.

The two impacted individuals are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the truck was carrying steel when it crashed into the grassy area.

Georgia State Patrol and Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division are working to pinpoint why the driver lost control of the truck and why it caught fire.
