CLEMMONS, NC – A 74-year-old local man passed away, and a UPS delivery truck driver was hospitalized, following a head-on wreck on Gus Hill Road Monday.
The local man was driving a blue Ford Explorer southbound when he drifted from his lane, causing the Explorer to strike the UPS truck, which was stopped for traffic, according to WFMyNews2. North Carolina State Highway Patrol and EMS crews responded to the scene before 11 a.m.
The driver of the Ford Explorer was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials said the truck driver was transported to a medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
The decedent has since been identified as Roy Clinton Brewer Jr. Troopers have not been able to determine why Brewer lost control of his car. However, criminal charges are not anticipated.
