Woman killed, man injured in Highfill head-on crash

HIGHFILL, AR – A 30-year-old female car driver passed away, and a 43-year-old male truck operator was left injured, following a head-on wreck last Thursday, February 27.

Officers told NWAOnline that the 30-year-old woman was driving a 1997 Honda Accord when she veered off eastbound Arkansas 12 and went into the westbound lanes. Moments later, the Accord crashed head-on into a 2023 Freightliner truck.

Authorities pronounced the woman dead after 2:15 p.m. She was later identified as Sabrina Rankin, from Springdale. Officials identified the truck driver as Ilias Omuraliev.

It’s unclear if Omuraliev was taken to the hospital.

At this time, law enforcement does not have a definitive answer as to why Rukin lost control of her car prior to the wreck. However, weather conditions was ruled out as a factor.
