NEAR WESTON, FL – A 40-year-old man was extricated from his overturned semi-truck and flown to a hospital for serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash Monday.
The wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 40, west of Weston, according to WFLA Orlando. Broward County fire crews said the extrication took about 90 minutes to complete. During this time, the 40-year-old man was provided with medical assistance.
Medical helicopter personnel transported the 40-year-old man, the sole occupant, to Broward Health Fort Lauderdale for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time, Florida Highway Patrol has not been able to confirm why the driver lost control of his vehicle.
