I-40 in Rockwood shuts down after tractor-trailer rollover crash

ROCKWOOD, TN – TDOT workers had to shut down one lane on I-40 East at mile marker 341 due to a tractor-trailer rollover crash that caused tomato sauce to spill onto the roads Friday.

WVLTV first reported the wreck after 6 a.m. east of Airport Road. The impact caused the truck to crash into a ditch, according to photos shared by TDOT. Despite the nature of the collision, the driver was spared from injuries.

TDOT personnel have not provided a time estimate regarding when all lanes would reopen, and officials have not confirmed why the driver lost control of their truck.
