MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Authorities were called to a tractor-trailer crash late Thursday, February 20, in Miami Gardens that left two Miami-Dade detectives injured, reports NBC Miami.
The accident took place at the corner of Northwest 167th Street and Northwest 12th Avenue. Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 11:36 p.m.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), two detectives were traveling northbound on 12th Avenue when their unmarked department vehicle was hit by a westbound semi at the intersection.
The two MDSO deputies were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
No injuries to the truck driver were reported. It’s unclear whether they are expected to be charged for their role, but an investigation remains in progress.
