POLK COUNTY, CO – A driver of a BayCare box truck rear-ended a semi-truck, causing the box truck to catch on fire and claiming the BayCare motorist’s life Wednesday.
The events unraveled after 2 a.m., ABC Action News reports. Florida Highway Patrol said box truck drivers did not reduce their speed amid slowed traffic, which led them to hit the back of the tractor-trailer in front of them. Both trucks moved before stopping on the shoulder. The box truck motorist perished at the scene, while the semi-male driver, 51, was spared from injuries.
BayCare has not released a formal statement regarding Wednesday’s wreck or publicly identified the victim.
