Officials dispatched to trash truck rollover wreck in Del Rio

DEL RIO, TN – First responders were summoned to a scene of a trash truck rollover collision that took place on Highway 25 with several patches of black ice Monday afternoon.

The solo crash occurred around 2 p.m. along Wolf Creek and near the Tennessee and North Carolina state lines, according to WVLTV. Tennessee Department and the Cocke County Emergency Management Agency responded to the scene. The impact of the wreck caused hydronic fluid and salt to spill from the truck and onto the icy road.

Despite the nature of the wreck, the truck driver was spared from physical harm and declined medical attention from paramedics. Crews shut down the area for the standard scene clearance process and lifted all lane closures around 6:30 p.m.
