PINEHURST, NC – A propane truck driver was airlifted to a hospital following a solo rollover collision that happened on the 2300th block of Linden Road Friday.
The crash took place around 9:30 a.m. and entrapped the driver and caused diesel fuel to spill onto the road, CBS17 reports.
Local fire crews extricated the driver prior to the hospital transportation.
The Fayetteville Fire Department and the The North Carolina Hazardous Materials Regional Response Team were also summoned to the scene. Hazmat crews had to burn “off propane” from the truck so that it could be safely towed away from the scene.
Due to the nature of the crash and for safety precautions, crews were finally able to tow away the truck from the scene on Saturday.
