Injury 4-truck wreck with black ice reported in Richmond

RICHMOND, TX – A patch of black ice on U.S. 59 North was a contributing factor behind a four-truck collision with injuries Tuesday morning.

The first crash happened around 3:30 a.m., Fox26Houston said. The first tractor-trailer driver hit a patch of black ice, which led the truck to flip over. Another big rig jackknifed and was struck again by a third semi-truck. A fourth truck also crashed.

Several photos indicated that one of the involved trucks was a FedEx truck, and another truck sustained significant damage as a result.

Richmond Police said EMS crews took two out of the four motorists to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
