WESTWEGO, LA – Louisiana State Department of Transportation crews had to close Highway 90 for a few hours due to a multi-vehicle wreck involving two trash trucks on Wednesday.
WWLTV reports that diesel fuel spilled onto the road. Crews shut down the westbound lanes along South Kenner Avenue after 8 a.m. for the clean-up procedure. Authorities also left at least one eastbound lane open to accommodate the flow of traffic.
DOT personnel reopened all westbound lanes after 10:30 a.m. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was among the first responders. Deputies have not yet commented on the events leading to this wreck and did not state whether anyone was injured or hospitalized.
