U-turn attempt leads to fatal crash with semi near Kershaw 

NEAR KERSHAW, SC – A Ford Ranger pickup truck driver lost his life after hitting a big rig after trying to make a U-turn at Flat Creek Road and Pit-A-Tat Road Saturday. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol told WRHI that the crash took place at 6:30 p.m. Officers’ preliminary details suggest that the semi-motorist was going west on Flat Creek Road and the Ford motorist east when they collided. 

The pickup truck driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the semi-motorist was unharmed. 

Troopers are taking the lead on this investigation and have not shared additional information, including the victim’s identity, at this time.
