YOUNGSTOWN, FL – When an International truck and a white Mac semi collided, it caused the Mack truck to overturn, leading the motorist of the Mac to pass away Monday.
WJHG said the events unfolded shortly after 8:30 a.m., when the driver of the Mac semi, carrying a dump trailer, traveling on State Road 20 was hit by the motorist of an International truck, who had entered State Road 20 East from Blue Springs Road north. The impact caused the Mac to flip over into westbound SR 20.
Ambulance crews immediately rushed the Mac motorist to a hospital. Initially, this driver was in critical condition and then succumbed to fatal wounds sometime later.
Florida Department of Transportation crews who stayed behind at the crash site shut down the area and advised commuters to take Highway 388 to accommodate the scene clearance procedure.
Florida Highway Patrol started an investigation and has not released the contributing factors behind this wreck or stated the victim’s age, gender, or place of residence.
