Man, 58, dies as box truck hits 2nd truck in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, VA – A 58-year-old man who was operating a box truck died when he crashed into another truck on Route 58 Monday.

This collision happened after 3 p.m. on the Franklin bypass, according to 13NewsNow

Suffolk police did not specify what truck model the hit truck was, but stated it was used to assist crew members with a road pavement project on the highway.

Officers confirmed the victim perished at the crash site, identifying him as Stephan Travis Claude.

An investigation has been launched. While details behind this wreck are under wraps, it appears Claude may not have stopped for the flashing lights that came from the crew members’ truck, as Suffolk police were telling the public to be mindful of stopping for those said lights while operating a vehicle. Still, our news team will continue to remain vigilant about any incoming details and issue updates once confirmed.
