Howard County crash involving Peterbilt truck claims 1 life, injures 4 others

HOWARD COUNTY, AR – One person lost their life Thursday evening as a result of a multi-vehicle wreck in Nashville that left one person dead and injured four others, according to Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

The Arkansas State Police said the collision occurred at the intersection of East Cassady Street and AR-27, at about 5:40 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows a 49-year-old Blevins woman was driving a 2018 Dodge Caravan eastbound on East Cassady Street when she failed to yield to the right-of-way as she entered the highway. Moments later, the Caravan collided with a 2005 Peterbilt truck being driven southbound by a 34-year-old Oden resident.

The impact caused the truck to overturn and for its cargo to strike a 2021 Jeep Renegade and a 2024 Chevrolet Trax, which were both heading northbound on the highway.

Officials said the driver of the Caravan was pronounced deceased following the crash.

Her passengers, two Blevins residents aged 28 and 18, both suffered injuries. The drivers of the Peterbilt and the Jeep were also hurt.
