Woman, 53, loses life in fiery semi-pickup truck crash in Lonoke Co.

LONOKE COUNTY, AR – A fiery collision involving a 2024 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a semi-truck on U.S. 67 had claimed the life of a 53-year-old woman Sunday.

Kait8 said the events unfolded before 12:30 a.m. when the semi-truck driver had allegedly crashed into the pickup truck, parked along the shoulder. The impact of this collision caused the pickup truck to go into a ditch, overturn, and then eject some of the pickup truck passengers.

Arkansas State Police said the 53-year-old woman was identified as Agueda Carrillo Mata from Batesville, succumbed to fatal wounds at the collision site, and an ambulance took the other passengers, an unidentified minor, 54-year-old Jose Salsas De la Cruz from Batesville, and  Miguel Angel Salas Carillo (age not reported) to UAMS.

ASP did not confirm which pickup truck occupant was driving nor whether the semi-driver was injured in this collision.
