FHP investigates trash truck, canal collision in Naples 

NAPLES, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances behind what led a trash truck driver to crash into a canal on I-75 Monday.

This crash occurred near Immokalee Road, and NBC-2 footage indicated that the truck was partially submerged.

FHP and fire rescue crews did not confirm whether the driver escaped their truck prior to emergency responders showing up or if a rescue portion needed to be conducted.

As it stands, troopers have not released a formal statement explaining the events that unfolded before this collision or whether the driver was injured or hospitalized.
