1 killed, child injured, after 2 tractor-trailers collide in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FL – A collision involving two semi-trucks on I-75 in Gainesville left one man dead and a child seriously hurt.

According to WCJB, the crash occurred in the early morning hours June 14th on the northbound side of the interstate near mile maker 379.

Inside one of the semis, a 55-year-old man was trapped, requiring the use of hydraulic tools to be extricated. He was transported to a local trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries later on.

A 10-year-old child in one of the trucks was able to get out of the vehicle on her own before being taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

The second driver involved was reportedly unhurt.
