MARIETTA, GA – A driver of a semi-truck collided with a support beam under the Windy Hill bridge, leading the truck to catch on fire, reported around 3 a.m. Friday.
This solo collision occurred near SR-280, according to 11 Alive. Upon arrival, authorities closed all of the southbound lanes and diverted traffic to Delk Road.
Cobb Fire County Fire Rescue crews were able to extinguish the flames, and the Cobb County HazMat team was able to mitigate the chemical spills.
Officials have not reported any injuries at this time.
