DOTHAN, AL – A driver of a dump truck had to go to the hospital after striking a Marathon Gas Station canopy, which caused the truck to overturn and catch on fire Monday.
This solo collision happened along Murphy Hill and Montgomery Highway, according to WDHN. The impact of this wreck also caused 25 gallons of diesel fuel to spill onto the road.
Crews were called to clean up the spill and debris across the parking lot, and tow trucks, along with fire crews, were summoned to the scene to “turn the dump truck’s right side up.”
First responders did not specify the events leading up to this collision or provide an update on the driver’s current condition.
