NASHVILLE, TN – A 48-year-old man operating a sedan ran a stop sign and tried to turn left, leading him to collide with a FedEx semi-truck, resulting in his death Saturday.
WSMV said this crash occurred as the sedan (an Impala model) was going west on Ewing Drive, and the semi-truck driver was going north on Knight Drive, getting ready to come to Ewing. When the sedan driver made the turn, they went right in front of the 18-wheeler, causing the tractor-trailer driver to press on their brakes but strike the driver’s side of the sedan.
Nashville Police confirmed that the 48-year-old man, identified as Richard Frazer, passed away at the scene, while the three passengers with him, a 36-year-old woman and her two children, were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The semi-truck driver, a 61-year-old man, was unharmed.
Officers started an investigation and confirmed no one was intoxicated, and no one would be set to receive charges.
