Troopers close I-40 West in Lakeland due to semi-trailer collision 

LAKELAND, TN – Crews and Tennessee Highway Patrol shut down I-40 West near Chambers Chapel Road due to a semi-trailer crash reported after 4 p.m. Friday. 

 Tennessee Department of Transportation and troopers conveyed to Action News 5 that the semi-trailer was hauling several vehicles that the truck had jackknifed, at least according to an obtained image. 

Still, the details regarding this crash, including the number of vehicles involved and whether anyone was injured or hospitalized, have not been made available. 

At the time of reporting, officials had closed and shut down the left and right shoulders but had not specified when the scene of the crash cleared or if charges or citations would be expected.
