Driver misses curve, causing fatal double semi wreck near Bluff City

NEAR BLUFF CITY, AK – A driver of a 2006 Peterbilt failed to negotiate a curve, leading him to hit a 1999 model Freightliner, claiming the second driver’s life Friday.

As retold by the Magnolia Reporter, preliminary details revealed that the Peterbilt driver was going west on Arkansas 24 (also known as Camden Highway) when he missed a curve and struck the Freightliner going east on the highway.

Arkansas State Police, who responded to the scene, said the impact of the two-truck collision led the Peterbilt to roll over and crash into a ditch before coming to rest on the northbound shoulder. As a result, the Freightliner driver succumbed to deadly wounds, while the Peterbilt driver was taken to Magnolia Regional Medical Center.

Officers identified the Freightliner driver as 42-year Jason Barr from Huttig and the Peterbilt motorist as 46-year-old Kevin Lambert from Waldo.

State Police did not state the current physical condition of Lambert, nor revealed whether he would be cited or charged for his involvement in this crash.
