MOULTON, AL – A tractor-trailer driver pressed on his brakes before a light turned red at an intersection, resulting in him striking two other vehicles Monday.
This collision happened around 8 a.m at the Alabama Highway 24 and Alabama State Route 33 intersection, according to The Moulton Advertiser.
First responders said that after the truck driver hit his brakes, the goods inside the back of his truck came forward and slammed through the cab, which trapped the driver. The truck then collided with the two other vehicles, both of which were damaged.
The Moulton Fire Department had to extricate either the entrapped or pinned tractor-trailer driver from his truck.
Moulton Police, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and Moulton EMS did not report any serious injuries, although they did not clarify if the truck driver and two other motorists even sustained minor wounds or needed to go to a hospital.
At the time of the reporting, officials shut down a turning lane going from Highway 24 South to Highway 33 and closed one westbound lane on Highway 24.
No additional details have been provided.
