NEAR NEW CANEY, TX – One tractor-trailer driver was left in critical condition following a two-18-wheeler collision that led one of the trucks to catch fire Friday.
FOX 26 Houston said this crash happened on I-69 South up the road from FM 1485.
This collision happened when one of the tractor-trailers, a Swift transportation truck, stopped working and shut down on I-69. A second 18-wheeler, with a blue cab, rear-ended the Swift truck and caught on fire as a result.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the blue-cab tractor-trailer, which was left significantly damaged. First responders said the Swift truck was hauling cartons of DEF Fluid for diesel engines while the blue cab was carrying cardboard.
It is unclear if the driver of the Swift truck was injured or hospitalized.
