IRWINTON, GA – One driver was hospitalized for a broken leg, and another driver was killed following a fiery two-semi-truck collision at SR-112 and U.S. Highway 441 Tuesday.
Georgia State Patrol told 13WMAZ that this collision happened when the driver of a blue 2022 Freightliner did not stop at the stop sign and then collided with a white Freightliner. Troopers were summoned to the crash site before 3:30 p.m.
The driver of the white car sustained some burns and succumbed to fatal wounds after 5 p.m. Due to the serious burns sustained on the driver’s face, authorities have not been able to confirm whether the motorist was a man or woman nor specify their place of residency.
The other motorist, who failed to stop at the stop sign, was the one who was hospitalized.
Troopers started an investigation but have not released other information at this time.
