WALTERBORO, SC – A driver of a Mac Truck passed away after they drifted off to the left from I-95 South and crashed into a tree Wednesday, Live5News reported.
After arriving, South Carolina Highway Patrol declared the driver dead at the scene and have not released their name at this time. The South Carolina Department of Transportation was also dispatched to the crash site.
For several hours, crews had to close all southbound lanes so that towing vehicles could pull the Mac Truck from the wooded area.
Crews managed to successfully clear the scene and lifted all lane closures by 11:30 a.m.
