Sweeper truck driver injured in collision with train in Bristol

BRISTOL, VA – A sweeper truck driver was injured upon colliding with a train while crossing the railroad tracks near Sugar Hollow Park Wednesday, WJHL reported. 

This crash occurred after 8 a.m. adjacent to Pairgin Road and Wallace Pike, on private property, Virginia State Patrol revealed. 

VSP said the train was a Norfolk-Southern train, while the truck is owned by a private contractor. While it is unclear if the train sustained some damage, the source’s photo indicated that the truck’s front bumper was nearly totaled.
