WADESBORO, NC – One person passed away in a collision between a big rig and a pickup truck on N.C. 742 South near Capel Dairy Road Monday.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. QCNews said the North Carolina State Highway Patrol doesn’t have many details at this time but did confirm that the victim succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
Upon arrival, troopers issued closures extending for two miles and redirected drivers to Capel Dairy Road and NC 109 South and then City Pond Road before getting back onto N.C. 742. All lanes reopened after 3 p.m., according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Troopers have not released a statement surrounding the events that led to Monday’s wreck or the victim’s name.
