1 dead after Maidens rear-end tractor-trailer collision 

MAIDENS, VA – A driver of a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia struck the back of another tractor-trailer of the same model, leading the second driver to pass away Thursday. 

This rear-end collision happened before 1:30 p.m. on I-64 West, one mile from Oilville Road, according to WRIC

Virginia State Police said the driver of the second tractor-trailer (model year 2018) did not wear a seatbelt and succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. He has since been identified as 37-year-old Scott O’Neal Bryant, a Bedford man. 

Authorities launched an investigation and have not commented on additional details concerning Thursday’s wreck.
