Update: 2 hurt in pickup, big rig wreck that killed Mississippi man

BESSEMER, AL – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has confirmed that two others were injured in a collision that claimed the life of a 30-year-old Mississippi man Friday.

To recap, this crash happened around 2 p.m. on I 59/20 along Allison-Bonnett Memorial Drive when the pickup truck driver drifted out of his lane and struck the 30-year-old man driving a tractor-trailer. CBS 42 said authorities identified the pickup truck driver as 49-year-old Rafael Andablo.

After Andablo hit the tractor-trailer, he had drifted off the road before hitting a cable barrier and was going airborne. He did not wear a seatbelt and was thrown from his truck.

First responders took Andablo and the 3-year-old child with him to UAB Hospital for treatment of unspecified wounds and declared the 30-year-old man dead at the scene, who was identified as Jamaiyia Geivoca Foote.
