Tractor-trailer wreck closes section of I-65 near Thompson’s Station

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TN — Part of Interstate 65 was shut down early Monday near Thompson’s Station following a semi-truck collision, according to WSMV.

The accident happened on a stretch of I-65 at mile marker 57, over half a mile north of Thompson’s Station Road East. It was first recorded by the Tennessee Department of Transportation at about 3:30 a.m.

Officials with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said a semi was towing a trailer when it entered the median and crashed near I-840. Tennessee Highway Patrol officials indicated that one other vehicle was involved, but no other details were provided.

A section of the interstate was blocked in both directions as crews worked the scene, creating long delays for commuters.

At about 4:30 a.m., one southbound lane was reopened, and nearly an hour later, all northbound lanes were restored to traffic.

No injuries or hospital transports have been confirmed as of this writing.
