Pickup vs semi tractor-trailer crash in George County claims 1 life

GEORGE COUNTY, MS — A 41-year-old driver lost their life last Thursday, February 8, following a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer on State Highway 63 in George County, according to Darkhorse Press.

While the exact location of the fatal accident was not reported by Darkhorse, Mississippi Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene on the southbound highway at around 6:30 a.m.

Preliminary details indicate the victim, Vancleave resident David Grafton, was operating a 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup truck southbound on MS-63. At one point, the pickup collided with a 2004 semi tractor-trailer that was also traveling southbound on the highway.

Grafton sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounce deceased by first responders at the scene.

Authorities did not immediately say whether the semi driver, 56-year-old Arteza Ferrill, of Lucedale, was hurt.
