Authorities investigate injury crash involving semi on I-77 ramp in Rock Hill

YORK COUNTY, SC — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon due to a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 77 in Rock Hill, according to CN2.

Rock Hill Police said the wreck unfolded on the I-77 northbound entrance ramp from Dave Lyle Boulevard at Exit 79. Officers and first responders were dispatched to the scene some time after 2:30 p.m.

Preliminary details show a Chevrolet Sonic and a Kenworth semi-truck were impacted, but officials have not detailed what led up to the event.

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported by ambulance to CMC, while the passenger of the semi was flown by medical helicopter. No information about the condition of either patient has been made available.

An investigation by the Rock Hill Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team remains underway.
