Multiple agencies respond to dump truck crash off Lewiston Rd in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA — A dump truck left a roadway and collided with a group of trees Thursday afternoon in north Grovetown, according to WRDW.

The incident took place off a span of Lewiston Road near Interstate 20. Local police, firefighters, and EMS personnel responded to the scene off the roadway at about 2:30 p.m.

Officials have not confirmed the cause of the accident, but the dump truck appears to have veered off the left side of the roadway before striking several trees.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the truck was not carrying cargo at the time of the wreck, and that no injuries were reported.
