BARTOW COUNTY, GA — One person was injured Friday morning during a crash involving two trucks on Interstate 75 in Acworth, reports Atlanta News First.
Georgia State Patrol officials say the accident took place on southbound I-75, just past Exit 278 to Glade Road, in an area approaching the Bartow-Cobb County line.
An early investigation found that a Penske box truck veered out from its lane rear-ended a tractor-trailer, which was parked in the emergency lane with its flashers activated.
First responders had a female passenger from the Penske truck flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital. No information specifying the severity of her condition has been disclosed.
A span of the southbound highway was blocked off during the emergency response and clearance of a cargo and fuel spill.
Authorities have not reported any pending charges or other information at this time.
