3 dead following crash with tractor-trailer on US-301 in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC — Three people lost their lives Tuesday evening when their car collided with a big rig on U.S. Highway 301 in Orangeburg, reports News19.

The fatal accident unfolded on a stretch of US-301 at Cross Creek Drive, shortly after 6:00 p.m.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was heading west on Cross Creek Drive when it collided with a 2002 Mustang as the car, which was traveling on the highway.

All three occupants of the Mustang were pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. Their identities remain undisclosed at this time.

No injuries to the driver of the big rig or anyone else were reported.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the wreck.
