OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — Five people were injured Thursday morning due to a multi-vehicle wreck involving three semi-trucks on Florida’s Turnpike near south St. Cloud, reports WFTV9.
The collision took place on a span of the northbound turnpike near Canoe Creek Service Plaza, about 15 miles before Kissimmee Park Road. It was first reported just after 4:30 a.m.
While the cause of the accident has not been specified, Florida Highway Patrol officials say three semis, a 2024 Toyota RAV4 SUV, and a 2022 Ram 3500 pickup truck were involved. Photos taken at the scene show two of the semis overturned, and cargo can be seen strewn across the interstate.
Of the five people transported to Osceola Regional Hospital, two patients were rushed by helicopter.
All northbound lanes in the area were shut down during the emergency response. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes.
An investigation remains ongoing.
