COBB COUNTY, GA — A crash involving three tractor-trailers and seven passenger vehicles Tuesday near Smyrna sent three people to the hospital, according to WSB-TV.
The accident unfolded on southbound Interstate 75, near Exit 260 to Windy Hill Road Southeast.
Georgia State Patrol troopers said one involved driver made an improper lane change that led up to the multi-vehicle crash.
First responders had three people transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
All southbound lanes were shut down during the emergency response but began reopening at about 5:15 p.m.
Due to slow recovery from a significant traffic backup, motorists were advised to take Cobb Parkway/Highway 41 to Interstate 285.
