2 extricated after semi overturns on I-24 near Cheatham County line

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN — A rollover crash involving a big rig last Tuesday night, October 24, near Joelton left two people injured, according to WSMV.

Metro Nashville Police said the single-vehicle wreck occurred on eastbound Interstate 24 near mile marker 32.6, in an area between the Cheatham County line and the Joelton exit.

An off-duty officer in the area observed the tractor-trailer veer to the left side of the roadway before it collided with the guardrail. Moments later, the semi driver appeared to lose control, causing the vehicle to roll and come to rest on its hood along the right side of the highway.

Nashville Fire Department crews worked to extricate the semi’s two occupants, who both suffered injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. No other details about the patients’ conditions were immediately available.

Crews had part of the interstate blocked for an extended time during the response and investigation.
