Collision involving semi-truck on Bluff Rd. in Columbia kills Sheriff’s Deputy

RICHLAND CO., SC – A multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in southeast Columbia claimed the life of a Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy on Saturday.

According to WSPA, 23-year-old Deputy Jacob Eric Salrin was westbound on Bluff Road when his 2017 Ford collided with an eastbound semi-truck.

Sarlin, who was hired by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in 2022, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
