Tanker truck collision on US-11 near Greenville injures 1

GREENVILLE, VA – A two-vehicle crash involving a tanker truck injured one person Tuesday afternoon in south-central Augusta County, reports WHSV 3.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a wrong-way collision along US-11, or the Lee Jackson Highway, near Sunnyside Drive in southwest Greenville.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the accident, which they say involved a tanker truck and another large truck. There’s no word yet regarding which driver may have entered the wrong side of the highway.

Medics transported one person to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

Officials closed both sides of the highway while teams attended to the victim, gathered evidence, and worked to clear the wreckage.
