Collision Involving Overturned Semi Truck Backs Up Traffic on Highway 24 in Oakland, CA

OAKLAND, CA – A crash involving an overturned semi truck caused major delays on Highway 24 near the Caldecott Tunnel on Thursday afternoon, abc7 reports.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near State Highway 13 around 3:50 pm.

A Subaru cut in front of a Nissan and then began braking for upcoming traffic, causing the Nissan to rear-end the Subaru. The semi truck then collided with the rear of the Nissan and overturned.

Westbound lanes of Highway 24 were shut down until around 6:15 pm.

The semi truck driver was transported to Highland Hospital with leg and arm pain. No other injuries were reported.
