Traffic Backed Up On I-96 in Michigan After Semi Truck Collision

CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, MI – A semi truck lost control and collided with a transit van in icy conditions on I-96, backing up traffic for several hours on Friday afternoon, WWMT reports.

According to authorities, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-96 near the Cleveland Street exit around 2:15 pm. A portion of the highway was closed until nearly 5 pm.

The semi truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. The transit van driver was unharmed.
